Anthropology, A.A.

Anthropology is the study of human beings, focusing on their origin and physical development (biological anthropology) as well as on their way of life (cultural anthropology). Anthropologists study all aspects of human life: social behavior, values, personality, language, government, history, prehistory, technology, art, healing, religion, housing, clothing, and economics.

This program allows students to focus on anthropology for their associate of arts degree. The core provides students the basic coursework in the field, while allowing them the flexibility to tailor their program to their individual needs. Students must successfully complete core courses with a “C-” or better to meet program requirements. Students planning to transfer to a four-year college should consult with their advisor and the appropriate four-year college catalog.
