HIST 2389 - History of Women and the American West(3) The purpose of this course is to provide students with a detailed understaniding of life in the North American West from the perspective of women. This course will challenge traditional histories of the West that exclude women. In doing so, this course intends to illuminate the important contributions that women have made in shaping the history of the North American West. The objective of this coursee is to provide student with a detailed understaning of the political, social, and economic conditions of the West. We will identify the major historical themes of the history of the North AMerican West, noting patterns of changes over time.
