This course aims to provide the students with an understanding of the issues and solutions surrounding web-applications, database, and network security. The course provides hands-on experience of implementing a wide range of security countermeasures in web-applications, establishing secure connections, securing a database, and conducting penetration testing. Business perspective on security and risk assessment are also addressed in the course, as well as the domain relevant legislation and regulations.

Prerequisite: Completion of SDEV 1200 and COSC 2050 with a “C” or better or consent of instructor
