The Graphics Program prepares students for careers in the related fields of graphic design, web design, pre-press, and printing.

Graphic design is the profession that plans, analyzes, and creates visual solutions to communication problems. Designers today are required to be competent with Adobe digital communications tools and have a good understanding of printing and pre-press issues. In addition to digital tools, designers use the creative process, design principles, form, color, image, and typography to craft compelling visual messages.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technological resources and instruction, our students develop skills in traditional print-based design as well as basic web design. Coursework includes the study of design principles and elements, color theory, an overview of the graphics industry, a survey of art history, and technical courses in electronic layout, pre-press, and offset printing.

The Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design prepares students for entry-level employment in graphic design, web design, and technical support. The core courses in the Graphics A.A.S. curriculum are designed to provide technical competency while developing individual strengths and interests.
