The Associate of Applied Science Nursing Degree from Northwest College (NWC) provides a solid foundation in the principles and skills of Professional Nursing for students planning to practice as a Registered Nurse. The four-semester program utilizes theory, laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning experiences to prepare the successful graduate as an entry-level nurse who provides effective, safe, competent, and appropriate nursing care to diverse populations in a variety of health care delivery settings.
There are additional admission and application requirements above and beyond those for general college admission. Prospective students should contact the Nursing Department for requirements specific to the Nursing Program. The Nursing Department provides information to all prospective students upon request. Admission to the program is granted only in the fall semester.
The Northwest College Associate of Applied Science Degree Nursing Program is approved by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing (State of Wyoming, State Board of Nursing, 1810 Pioneer Ave, Cheyenne WY 82001, 307-754-7601) and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC, 3343 Peachtree NE Suite 500, Atlanta GA 303326, 404-975-5000). Successful completion of the four-semester program of study leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing and eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX RN).
Individuals desiring to enroll in the four-semester program, graduates of the practical nursing programs interested in pursuing an RN degree, and transfer students from another nursing program need to contact the Nursing Department for the most recent application packet, requirements, and admission criteria.
