GNDR 1000 - Introduction to Gender Studies(3) This course is an introduction to the study of gender as a category for social and cultural analysis. We will study the intersection of gender, class, race/ethnicity, nationality, age and sexuality and will examine how those intersections shape our experiences, our culture, and the social institutions we inhabit. The course is a survey of gender construction and will use critical theory to examine gender within the areas of social institutions, literature history, visual art, film, biological theories, psychology, and popular culture.
