MATH 1100 - Theory of Arithmetic I(3) Designed primarily for prospective elementary teachers. Students acquire conceptual background for the operations and algorithms of arithmetic. Includes study of whole numbers, rational numbers, integers, and real numbers. Logic and problem solving skills incorporated throughout. Prerequisite: A grade of “C-” or better in MATH 0930 or placement at math level 3 within one year prior to enrollment. (3 hrs lec)
