The LPN stand-alone certificate program provides a solid foundation in the principles and theories of nursing for students planning to practice as Licensed Practical Nurses in the health care setting. Students must successfully complete general education requirements and core courses with a “C” or better to meet certificate program requirements. Students who successfully complete the LPN certificate program will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam and if successful, will be able to practice as an LPN in the state of Wyoming and across the U.S. with compact licensure status.

After December 17th, 2021, there will no longer be a stand-alone LPN certificate program.  Students interested in becoming an LPN will need to meet the application requirements and be admitted to the ADN program.  Beginning in the Spring of 2022, students will be eligible to apply to take the NCLEXC-PN exam after the successful completion of the first two semesters of the ADN program.  For information relating to application to the ADN program, prospective students should visit the nursing department website (www.nwc.edu/nursing/).

For course requirements for completion of the stand-alone LPN program, reference the list below.  These requirements will no longer be valid after December 17, 2021.

Beginning January 1, 2022, students interested in the LPN course options will need to reference the pre-requisites, application criteria, and the first two semesters of the NWC ADN program of study. Please visit the Nursing - Registered Nurse, A.D.N  catalog program page for more information.
