Graphic designers combine art and technology to communicate ideas in visual form. Designers must demonstrate aptitude in creative, analytical, and technical areas.

The Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Design is a course of study for students who intend to transfer to professional art schools or universities to complete a baccalaureate degree in graphic design. This major combines art and design foundations with an introduction to the field of graphic design.

Coursework in the Associate of Arts Degree focuses on developing creativity and concept through the study of design principles and elements, color theory, art history, drawing, as well as introductory coursework in graphic design, web design, and printing processes.

Utilizing both hand-created imagery and the Adobe Creative Cloud software, students enhance their conceptual thinking and develop skills required for successful transfer and continuing study.
