Criminal Justice Studies, B.A.S.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Criminal Justice Studies integrates knowledge from a diverse selection of academic areas to provide students with the skills necessary to enhance their personal and career potential in their selected area of technical specialization. Please see the Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice Studies handbook for more information.

All required core courses must be completed with a “C” or better to meet graduation requirements.

Prerequisite/Corequisite Requirements


Depending on the BAS applicant’s previously completed degree and/or previously completed academic coursework, the applicant may be required to complete up to 9.0 additional academic credits to support upper-division required BAS coursework.  These 9.0 additional credits may be attempted prior to (prerequisite), or after (corequisite), BAS program admittance, as determined by the student’s Academic Advisor at the time of the BAS student’s program application.  

Note: students needing to complete any, or all, of these courses will be able to count those credit hours toward their additional 18 elective credit hours needed for graduation in the BAS program. A minimum of a C grade, or higher is required for these 3 courses to count toward the BAS of CJS program requirements.
