This certificate program provides a solid foundation in the principles and theories of nursing for students planning to practice as Licensed Practical Nurses in the health care setting. Students must successfully complete general education requirements and core courses with a “C” or better to meet certificate program requirements.
Students who successfully complete the certificate program will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.
There are additional admission and application requirements above and beyond those for general college admission and prospective students should visit the nursing department website (www.nwc.edu/nursing/) for admission and application requirements specific to the Nursing Program. The Nursing Department provides information to all prospective students upon request. Applications are accepted each October for spring admissions to the program.
