Students acquire the theoretical framework needed for the care of the client and family experiencing complications of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and during the postpartum. It also provides the theoretical framework for the planning of care for the newborn at risk and the pediatric client experiencing illness. Students will use critical thinking skills while using the nursing process to plan care for clients. The focus will be on the physical, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of the clients and families. Prerequisites: Successful completion of the first, second, and third semesters of the Nursing Program. Corequisites: NRST 2740 , NRST 2750 , and NRST 2760 . (2 hrs lec)
